About the Song
“Soji” is the 12th track on Wizkid’s sixth studio album, Morayo, released in November 2024. The song presents a softer, romantic side of the Nigerian superstar, with Wizkid focusing on affection, attraction and the comfort of finding someone who understands him.
Produced by P.Priime, “Soji” forms part of an album that moves through different shades of love, reflection, celebration and personal experience.
The Sound
The record is built around a smooth Afrobeats groove with a relaxed tempo and melodic arrangement. P.Priime’s production leaves plenty of room for Wizkid’s vocals, allowing his laid-back delivery to carry the song without excessive instrumentation.
Wizkid moves naturally between English and Nigerian Pidgin, using a conversational style that makes the performance feel intimate. The repeated hook gives the track a memorable centre, while the easy rhythm makes it suitable for romantic playlists, relaxed evenings and casual listening.
What the Song Is About
“Soji” is primarily about love, admiration and companionship. Wizkid describes being drawn to a woman who understands him, appreciates him and brings positive memories into his life.
There is a strong sense of commitment beneath the flirtatious moments. Rather than presenting attraction as a temporary encounter, the song moves toward the idea of building a life together and enjoying the relationship as partners. His references to spending time together, travelling and creating shared experiences reinforce that direction.
The song also carries a relaxed confidence. Wizkid is not trying to force the relationship or make grand promises. Instead, he celebrates the connection and invites his partner to follow his lead while he expresses how much her presence means to him.
Within Morayo, “Soji” provides one of the album’s lighter romantic moments. Its warm production and uncomplicated message make it an easy listen while still showcasing Wizkid’s ability to turn everyday affection into a smooth Afrobeats record.
