About the EP
“Summers” is a four-track collaborative EP by Nigerian producer Melvitto and UK-based Nigerian artist Gabzy, released on November 4, 2019 through melvitto/First Play Ltd. Running for roughly 15 minutes, the project introduced a smooth meeting point between Melvitto’s production and Gabzy’s melodic songwriting.
The tracklist features “4 Nothin’,” “Girls Like Me,” “Come Over” and “Still Think of You.” Melvitto handled production across the project, while Gabzy provides the vocals and songwriting, giving the EP a consistent sound from beginning to end.
The Sound
Summers sits comfortably within Afrobeats and Afro-fusion while drawing heavily from contemporary R&B and soul. The production is smooth and uncluttered, allowing Gabzy’s vocals to carry the emotional weight of each song.
The EP moves between flirtation, attraction, late-night encounters and more reflective moments. “Come Over” brings a playful, intimate energy, while “Still Think of You” shifts toward lingering feelings and emotional attachment. The contrast gives the short project enough variety without losing its relaxed identity.
