About the Song
“Highest” is a track by Nigerian singer Lyta featuring Rafat Music, released on March 11, 2022 as the closing track of Lyta’s Rafat EP. The seven-track project was released through Rafat Music and Dvpper Music, with “Highest” running for approximately 2 minutes and 53 seconds.
The record arrived during a new chapter in Lyta’s career, with the Rafat project presenting a more personal side of his music while combining melodic Afrobeats with contemporary Nigerian street influences.
The Sound
“Highest” is built around a smooth Afrobeats foundation that gives Lyta room to lead with his melodic vocals. The production keeps the rhythm accessible while allowing the song’s vocal delivery and message to remain at the centre.
Rafat Music’s presence adds to the collaborative character of the record, creating a fitting closing moment for the EP. The song sits comfortably alongside the project’s other records, which explore different aspects of Lyta’s musical identity. Rafat is classified within Afrobeats and Afrosounds across major streaming platforms.
What the Song Is About
The title “Highest” points toward ambition, progress and the desire to reach a better position in life. Lyta approaches these ideas through a reflective but confident performance, touching on the journey from struggle to greater aspirations.
Rather than presenting success as an overnight achievement, the record carries the feeling of someone determined to keep moving forward. Its placement as the final song on Rafat gives that message added significance, leaving the project on a note centred on growth and aspiration.
