About the Song
“Dangbana Riddim” is a collaboration between Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda and FOLA, released in April 2025. The song brings together Bella Shmurda’s street-rooted musical identity and FOLA’s melodic approach for an energetic record built around ambition, hustle and the pursuit of financial success.
The Sound
Produced by Sbee, “Dangbana Riddim” rides on a lively Afrobeats foundation with a strong rhythmic pulse. Bella Shmurda and FOLA complement each other throughout the track, moving between melodic passages and energetic vocal performances without losing the street-inspired character that runs through the record.
What the Song Is About
The song centres on the realities and rewards of chasing money. Its lyrics touch on the pressure that comes with having little, the determination to improve one’s circumstances and the desire to enjoy the results of hard work. There is also a lighter side to the record, with references to relationships, lifestyle and the confidence that comes with making progress.
The collaboration gives the song a balance between Bella Shmurda’s familiar street-pop energy and FOLA’s smoother vocal presence, making the record accessible to listeners across different sides of contemporary Nigerian music.
